PROJECT MANAGER

As a Project Manager, you will act as part of a Professional Services team, work productively with other Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, Pre-Sales, and other internal & external resources to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives. The Project Manager is responsible for guiding implementations of data center infrastructure systems, as well as integrations and data migrations for throughout the project lifecycle. You will represent IPDS, ensuring successful delivery solutions and services to IPDS customers. You will manage projects/assignments ranging from basic to complex in scope, leveraging technical and industry best practices and proven IPDS methodologies to deliver project success.
As a Project Manager at IPDS, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering multiple/ simultaneous technology projects on time and within budget
- Communicating project timelines, dependencies, and ongoing project status to client and IPDS stakeholders
- Identifying, communicating, mitigating, and escalating project risks through the project lifecycle as appropriate
- Working within the IPDS PMO to schedule resources to ensure project success and maintain IPDS utilization targets and profitability
- Identifying opportunities to improve the IPDS project delivery process
Responsibilities:
PROJECT DELIVERY
- Understand customer’s business goals, objectives and needs and the general business environment
- Define and communicate the context of the customer project, key deliverables, roles and responsibilities, and engagement methods
- Define and communicate the work breakdown for the assigned work stream, the overarching project plan, and its relationship to the desired customer outcomes
- Capture accurate and timely information from the IPDS technical team in terms of progress, risk, and timelines
- Create/ manage projects within the IPDS Professional Services Automation (PSA) tool including reviewing and approving weekly timesheets of IPDS project staff
- Generate relevant level of project support documentation including project kickoff presentations, status reports, status meeting minutes, and project closeout documentation in line with the IPDS Project Management Methodology and customer expectations
- Comply with project change management rules for the project
- Guide project closeout, including the review of technical implementation experiences with project delivery team, capturing and sharing lessons learned as part of the project review and close activities, and ensuring all milestones have been met to enable invoicing as defined in the project SOW
KNOWLEDGE SHARING/REUSE AND PRACTICE PARTICIPATION
- Actively collaborate and share experiences to support organizational knowledge sharing
- Author/contribute to the documentation of standards, processes, and policies related to the project management process
- Maintain an understanding of latest technical and industry trends, transfer knowledge into innovative solution practices
- Keep up to date with Best Practices and methods within own area of specialism, and apply these in everyday role
SALES SUPPORT & SERVICES OPPORTUNITY MANAGEMENT
- Provide input into, and generate documentation, to support effort estimates, and/or customer response documentation/Statement of work (SOW)
- Provide marketing of IPDS to customers through engagement and interaction
- Perform intelligence gathering for sales and service opportunities while engaging with customers, partners and vendors
CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Maintain effective relationships with vendors, customers, and technical peers to support effective delivery
- Manage stakeholders’ expectations
- Provide information and feedback to internal or external customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner, as required by defined project activities, ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively
Qualifications
- United States citizenship required
- BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Three (3) or more years of experience in a technical project management role
- Experience specific to Data center Infrastructure build and deployment activities including products and solutions form DellEMC, Cisco, VMware, Nutanix, Commvault, Microsoft, Linux, and others is preferred
- Willingness and availability to work the core hours required by IPDS or specified by the customer project and company policies
- Individual must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing
Desirable Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
